The DFC Experience
Our purpose is to assist you in creating a parish/group website that is more than "just a pretty" web site. We hope that together we can develop your web site into a communication tool that serves two purposes:
from an evangelistic aspect, to attract visitors to your community and
as an interactive website that will facilitate communication within your parish or group community.
Our purpose is not to go through all the options that we could provide you all at once. Your website is going to evolve as the needs of your community evolve or as you get more comfortable with your skill at creating and maintaining content that will serve both purposes listed above. If your community is not accustomed to using a website on a daily/weekly basis, it would be a waste of your time to give them many tools they do not need. If you or your web maintainer is not comfortable using some the tools we can provide, then it will also be a waste of your time, getting it in place and not have it kept up. This should be a conversation you should have with us, your church staff and community members. A simple website that fully concentrates on the evangelistic aspect, can go along way to attracting visitors or newcomers without the worry of having "old" information on your site that may detract from their experience of visiting you site. We are happy to advise you along the way in this process for you to create a website that best fits your community needs.
Evangelism
Advertising; using keywords and descriptions that attract search engines to your site. I heard the other day, that despite the fact that a share of Google stock was so high, it is still a great investment, because we now have a whole generation(s) of folks that "google" to find out information. These key words provide the bill boards" that bring visitors to your web site.
The ability to create "News/Stories" on your web site that also attracts "search engines" to your site
An easy will managed navigation system that gets visitors to the information they need once they arrive at your web site
A simple, clean design, which attracts the viewer, and does not have the clutter to distract them from finding that information
Having the tools to expand your parish/group community beyond the driving distance that visitor's will drive to you physical plant.
Integrated driving directions and searchable maps for your parish, organization, event or outing. With just a few clicks you'll be providing site visitors driving directions to your parish and community locations.
Facilitating Communication
Posting your parish newsletter, sermons, (by document, audio/video files), upcoming events, photos, slideshows, and more.
DFC provides easy templates that let you or your staff update your site with the latest news and events.
If you'd like to let visitors register for events online the system will provide comprehensive registration support. Whether it is registration for a church retreat or Wednesday Night supper, online registration can help streamline your registration process and make events more accessible for your community members.
Shared, integrated Calendars, Documents, Spreadsheets, (powered by Google) allow you to share calendars with your clergy, staff, church leadership and have instantly updated websites listing your latest events. Calendars can be linked so that many smaller group calendars can be merged into a whole community calendar that can be monitored by someone on your staff.
Establishing blogs or interactive News/Stories that invite comment and discussion.
Online registration for parish/group events.
Through use of our Content Management System, parts of your web site can be assigned to those responsible that can facilitate almost "real time" for posting content, changes to content, if needed.
