How to Add a Sermon to the Sermon Archive

There are two ways to add a sermon. Pick whichever feels easiest.

A

Create an Article & Attach the PDF

Start from a new article form, then drag your PDF into the attachments panel. Quick and straightforward — under a minute.

Go to Option A
B

Upload the PDF First, Then Convert

Upload to Documents first and let the system read the PDF and fill in the article content for you. Great for full web articles.

A

Create an Article and Attach the PDF

Use this when you want to write your own summary or simply attach the PDF.

  1. 1
Open your Sermon Archive publication and click New Article.
  2. 2

    Fill in the basics:

    • Title — the sermon title (e.g. "The Good Shepherd")
    • Author — the preacher's name
    • Publish On — the date of the sermon
  3. 3
Optional Type a short summary or excerpt in the Start of Story box. You can leave this blank if the PDF speaks for itself.
  4. 4
In the right-hand sidebar, find the Attachments panel. The PDF tab is already selected.
  5. 5
Drag your sermon PDF onto the upload area, or click it to browse your computer. The PDF will upload automatically and a "View PDF" link will appear.
  6. 6
    Click Create Article.
That's it — the sermon is now in your archive with the PDF attached.
B

Upload the PDF First, Then Create the Article

Use this when you'd like the system to read the PDF and fill in the article content for you.

  1. 1
Go to Documents from the management menu.
  2. 2
Drag your sermon PDF onto the upload area (or click "browse your computer"). Give it a title if the auto-generated one isn't right, then click Upload Files.
  3. 3
After the upload finishes, a prompt will appear: "Convert this PDF?"
  4. 4
    Click Create a News Article.
  5. 5

    Fill in the details:

    • Article Title — the sermon title
    • Publication — choose your Sermon Archive publication
    • Story Date — the date of the sermon
    • Author — the preacher's name
  6. 6
    Click Convert.
  7. 7
Wait while the system reads your PDF and creates the article. This can take a minute or two. You'll be redirected to the new article when it's done.
The conversion may take a couple of minutes — don't navigate away while it's working.
  8. 8
Review the article, make any edits you'd like, and click Update Article.
